What are some Texas Drug Rehab Options?

Medical Detoxification Programs

Many people living in North Richland Hills will require alcohol detoxification or a drug detoxification program to help them eliminate addictive substances from their bodies as well as help the individual manage the associated withdrawal symptoms. Detox is critical to people who are dealing with substance use disorders.

Detoxification is a set of interventions aimed at managing the acute intoxication and withdrawal associated with being addicted to alcohol or drugs. In some cases, detoxification may be needed to help people that are addicted to multiple substances. The reality is that detoxification greatly reduces the risk associated with physical harm caused by addiction.

There are serious acute symptoms that need to be medically managed before becoming addiction-free from addictive substances. People that require medical detoxification or detox services but choose not to utilize detox programs are placing their health at risk of life-threatening intoxication and related medical problems. Attempting to detox yourself without the aid of medical detoxification professionals is dangerous.

We urge people that have a history of experiencing withdrawal symptoms in the past or people drinking alcohol or using multiple substances to contact our medical detox program to schedule an admission for detox services, especially considering that these individuals are at a greater risk of experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

Alcohol or Drug Inpatient Treatment Programs

Once an individual has completed medical detox services they are transitioned into either inpatient treatment or residential treatment programs. Inpatient alcohol or drug inpatient treatment programs are designed to help stabilize an individual and help the individual adjust physically and psychologically to being newly abstinent from addictive substances.

During this process, a medical doctor and nursing staff along with clinical professionals work with the individual to help the individual become medically clear to participate in other aspects of addiction treatment services. Treatment is a process that takes place over time and each person will have different needs. Some will require more monitoring and observation than others.

People that have a history of physical or co-existing medical conditions may require more assistance during inpatient treatment than others. A medical doctor will review the patient’s lab reports, adjust medications, and help the patient understand a course for treatment services during inpatient treatment services.

Alcohol or Drug Residential Treatment Programs

Alcohol or Drug Residential Treatment Programs are at the heart of addiction treatment services. More people utilize residential treatment services than any other type of treatment program. Usually, the intense physical aspect of treating addiction is completed, and direct acute issues are stabilized once a person begins residential treatment services.

During residential treatment, individuals will have an opportunity to focus on working on their treatment plans that are designed to guide the individual through the addiction treatment process. People in treatment will be working with therapists and addiction counselors to address psychological problems while participating in evidence-based addiction treatment therapies during residential treatment.

Individuals will work toward aligning plans to solutions to solve their alcohol or drug problems. Healing is a big focus of the residential treatment phase of treatment. An individual normally begins to experience hope and restored confidence during this phase of treatment services.

An individual’s self-esteem increases and as hope is restored or developed people progress through meeting short-term goals and progress is made toward some long-term goals. The counseling staff is available to help guide an individual through the addiction process along with introducing people to a wide variety of addiction treatment therapies.

Partial Hospitalization Treatment Programs

This level of treatment is unique because the individual has demonstrated a reasonably expected improvement in addressing the severity of their acute symptoms and behaviors at this point in the treatment process. Some people that have mild or moderate substance use disorders may begin treatment at this level of care, however, it is more commonly utilized as a step-down program from residential treatment to partial hospitalization treatment.

On average an individual is participating in treatment services for about thirty hours each week. Partial hospitalization treatment programs are structured and support-driven treatment programs. People that are entered into this level of care or treatment service normally have a good support system at home or in the community.

An individual has usually demonstrated a significant reduction of acute symptoms and is focused on managing post-acute withdrawal symptoms as the brain heals. The individual’s recovery environment and support system must demonstrate a mild to moderate lack of support to be considered for this level of treatment services.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment Programs

There are two primary ways to access Intensive Outpatient Treatment and one way is to step down or transition from either residential treatment services or partial hospitalization treatment programs. This takes place daily and intensive outpatient treatment programs are considered part of the continued care process of most treatment programs.

The other way that people access intensive outpatient treatment is directly beginning at the intensive outpatient treatment program for admission into the treatment program. Individuals must have a diagnosis of substance use disorder that is either mild, moderate, or severe to be considered for intensive outpatient treatment programs. An assessment from a trained addiction counselor will determine if the acuity or severity is present.

If the individual meets the criteria for treatment at this level of care the individual will begin participating in this level of care treatment services. These treatment programs are offered for a minimum of 6 weeks to 9 weeks depending on progress while in the treatment program.

Most intensive outpatient treatment programs are held in the evening or at night so that individuals can still work during the day while attending treatment in the evening. Other intensive outpatient treatment programs do offer mid-day treatment services. An individual that enters intensive outpatient treatment must be able to maintain abstinence while participating in intensive outpatient treatment.

Having a stable home or environment to live in while entering into an intensive outpatient treatment program is an advantage for people in IOP services. If a person is experiencing frequent relapses, intense cravings, or finding it difficult to stop their alcohol or drug usage then a higher level of treatment care is often needed versus intensive outpatient treatment.

Summer Sky Relapse Track

Some people have a history of relapse and they need a specialty treatment to focus on how to stop returning to alcohol or drugs repeatedly. Our relapse track was designed to interrupt the relapse process and to help an individual discover why they return to alcohol or drug usage repeatedly.

These individuals will have an opportunity to learn relapse warning sign identification, post-acute withdrawal symptoms management as well as designing a program of action in personal recovery that will help them not return to alcohol or drugs. Our relapse track at Summer Sky is effective at treating people with a history of relapse. If you are struggling with relapse-related issues then give our Summer Sky Relapse Track™ a call for help with these needs.
