We are excited for a new year in treatment & recovery and as each of you design your trips and plans this year, please put on your yearly goals time to attend our Summer Sky Annual Alumni Reunion & Celebration. This year we will be celebrating 37 years of serving people with substance use disorders and we would love to see all our Alumni who are trudging the road to happy destiny.
We know there have been a lot of challenges for people in recovery in the last few years and this year we will be celebrating all the success that you and Summer Sky have experienced over the years.

Have you always wanted to share your experience, strength, and hope with other soon-to-be Alumni that are in treatment at Summer Sky? Well, now you can do just that by coming to our monthly alumni meetings at Summer Sky and sharing a little of your story. This is a great opportunity to help new people in treatment learn about recovery from your own experience.

The Importance of Alumni Support & Addiction Treatment & Recovery
There are so many different things to do in recovery and especially right after you leave treatment and begin your journey into personal recovery. There are people you meet along the road as you trudge that road to happy destiny. Some people you will make lifelong friends with on that journey and others you will meet will make lasting impressions as you meet them in recovery.
There just is no other feeling like having access to a large group of people all committed to the same common goal of not using alcohol or drugs. While in personal recovery you are given a chance or opportunity to share your sobriety with others. This helps in the healing process since we all know that recovery is a long-term process that happens over our life.
We have all been taught that addiction is a chronic medical condition and that if we don’t maintain personal recovery, we are at risk of returning to alcohol or drug usage. This is where Alumni enter the recovery journey and allows us one more tool to help us stay focused and in recovery. By joining the alumni network, you can help yourself and others.
Being a part of the network allows for engaging in discussions and activities with other people that are sober-minded and understanding of what it means to be healing from a substance use disorder. The support is incredible and crucial for many people in recovery.
