COVID-19 Update for Summer Sky Treatment Center

Summer Sky Treatment Center COVID-19 Update

Summer Sky Treatment Center has remained open during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and we are providing access to life-saving substance use disorder treatment for people needing help with substance use disorders.

Summer Sky Provides the Below Treatment Services:

We are here to serve your needs related to substance use disorder treatment. We are fully staffed and here to help individuals and families during this Pandemic. We are operating with increased vigilance as we have put in place extra safety measures to protect our patients and staff during the COVID-19 Crisis.

We are closely monitoring updates from the CDC, and the Texas Department of State Health Services and implementing recommendations as they become available. Summer Sky and its patients are our highest priority and we have increased our screening and assessment process to pre-screen for potential risks and dangers related to the COVID-19 crisis.

COVID-19 and Family Visitations

We are offering onsite family visitations and have put in place increased safety precautions for all visitors to Summer Sky. As the State of Texas has resumed normal operations across the state, we are still providing extra safety measures including, but not limited to UVC sterilization, increased daily cleaning, patient fever checks, and family checks, sanitizer for patients and families, and mask are available and always encouraged.

We do ask that if you plan on visiting our patients during treatment you do a fever check before heading to the facility to make sure you are not sick. If any of the covid-19 symptoms are present, please don’t visit the facility. This little step of prevention can go a long way in helping us to ensure that the patients in our care remain safe.

Online Visitation Is Available:

For families that just can’t make a physical visit to see a patient, we do offer weekend visitation utilizing an online format. This is helpful to stay in contact with the patient during treatment and can also minimize the risk of spreading sickness if you are feeling under the weather. Online visitation is an optional service to minimize the risk of spreading any illness if you are feeling sick.

We will continue to update our policy and procedures as we monitor the ongoing pandemic, and we are hopeful that an end to COVID-19 is getting closer as cases do seem to be leveling out across Texas and throughout the United States. You can check back to this page regularly to see if any current changes have changed our current policy or visitation information. It is always a good idea to check with the patient before coming to the visitation or check this page to make sure no changes have taken place to our policy or guidelines toward visitation. Our highest priority is your loved one and the people we are treating in our care for substance use disorder services.

Outside Vendors:

We are still asking outside vendors to check in at the front desk and get a fever check before entering any department at our facility. While business is back to normal, we are staying vigilant and cautious as a healthcare-related treatment facility. We have discussed with each of our vendors through our business office proper procedures for delivery of supplies and other business matters.

We do require screening and checks before any business related to Summer Sky is performed. Again, this is not to disrupt your business relationship with Summer Sky, it is just for us to be extra careful as we protect the patients we serve. Substance use disorder treatment is vital to people with alcohol or drug problems, and they need a safe environment to recover from their condition. We strive to maintain a safe environment so that they can experience treatment services uninterrupted.

COVID-19 Symptoms:

Any Individuals with symptoms indicating COVID-19 should not visit Summer Sky Treatment Center®. If you are sick or exhibiting symptoms, please do not visit our facility. The symptoms are fever, cough, and shortness of breath. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your local medical provider for instructions on how to deal with the symptoms.
